How Your Day will Move 9-10:30 Introduction to Day. Nature of transformative education. Differences between traditional education and transformative education. Introduction of 10 Essential Life Skills. Show film Powers of 10 by Ray and Charles Eames. Stream of consciousness writing introduced as a tool for self evaluation and self counseling, useful for Social Workers and their clients to identify causal ways of thinking. Self Respect (#1) exercise. 10:30-11:15 Everyday Numbers. Power of numbers 1, 0, and 10. Introduction to concept of Zero Point as means to come to terms with distraction, emotional attachment, compulsivity, and personality conflicts. Undivided attention (#2), Sri Yantra concentration to focus power of the mind positively and at will. 11:15-12:30 The Scientist in You. Unified Field Theory, explaining the nature of everyday life experiences from attraction to charges between people to quantum change and miraculous happenings. Exploration of string theory and how it relates to people understanding both how they influence other people and how they are influenced by others. Concentration (#3). Walking in anothers shoes, concentration exercise applied to relationships.
2:15-3:00 Distillation of experience thus far. Communicating experience (Listening #5) as a process of self-evaluation and self-expression. Defines accuracy in both speaking and listening through combining Self Respect with the skill of listening. Learning how to breathe through the heart. 3-3:30 Defining the future through 10 improvements. Exercise in 10 powers of imagination (#6) teaches mental agility and versatility in perspective; how to see from many angles.
4:30-5:15 Graphing Polarities. Marking and identifying personal patterns of action and reaction during life cycles so cause and effect can easily be seen (Reasoning #8). Laying the foundation for resolution. 5:15-6:00 The Holographic Self: where myths and archetypes meet. Intuition (#9) is explored through archetypes in dreams and in waking life. Includes the short film created especially for POWERS of TEN 10 Powers of Dreaming which catalogues and personalizes the use of dreams in the lives of people in over a dozen professions including Pres. Abraham Lincoln, author Mary Shelley, Gen. George Patton, artist Salvador Dali Dmitri Mendeleev, and others. Dream interpretation as an impressive tool for self-evaluation continues through dinner during Dream Circles.
8:15-8:45 Closing. Revisit of Powers of 10 film and recap of the day, review of the essential life skills, evaluating yourself from a new perspective. |
