Amazing Man
A Medical Doctor’s Outstanding View on Life
By Jim McIntyre

Who wants to live a life of peace, abundance, and joy?  If you were at the “Living Peaceably begins by Thinking Peaceably” event on September 5th at the College of Metaphysics, you had the opportunity to see a glimpse of Dr. Nelson Kraus’ viewpoint.  Dr. Kraus is a medical doctor who brings together western medicine, homeopathy, acupuncture, quantum physics, U.S. Army Special Forces, W. Edward Deming, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, and A Course in Miracles.

With this vast impressive background and by blending dozens of philosophies and concepts, Dr. Kraus has created what he calls “Quantum Composting.”  His philosophy brings simplicity and richness to living, loving, and spirituality; a life filled with peace, abundance, and joy.

Part of Dr. Kraus’ philosophy on life was shaped by his early life.  His childhood included a bout with polio.  He overcame this disease with persistence, a quality that continues to serve to him to this day.  This same persistence had him apply to and get rejected by 32 medical schools before finally being accepted.  His childhood also led him to adopt the philosophy that the glass is half full, not half empty.  He is always able to get back up again.  He advocates taking “failures and doubts, and compost to create quantum outcomes unimaginable.”  He advises others to “gain control by letting go; similar to forgiveness.  It’s powerful.”

When School of Metaphysics President Dr. Laurel Clark asked him to be a speaker, Kraus says he was humbled and grateful.  He said, “yes,” since he wanted to experience the energy of the college and the event.  Once at the college, he realized there “are multiple benefits of being here” and that other people would benefit from being here, too.

Another reason he came to the event was to “turn up the heat on this quantum composting idea.”  This was to be the “genesis, the kick-in-the-butt start letting the spirit flow through me.”  Kraus said he also wanted answers to metaphysical questions.  “My talk had things flowing out of me I never expected.”  His desire manifested.

When I met Dr. Kraus, my first question for him was “Why are you so amazing?”  His initial response was one of disbelief that someone would actually consider him to be amazing.  I said, “It wasn’t up to debate whether or not you are amazing, we’ve already decided that you are.”

With that he proceeded to tell me about his childhood illness and he also gave me some basic platitudes on positive thinking for lack of a better answer, since he was put on the spot.  I moved on to easier questions – why are you attending this event, what has been your experience here today, and why did you agree to do this for free?

At the end of the interview as we were walking, I told him I was going to return to the initial question.  He immediately remembered what that question was and gave me a half-mocking, comical sense of dread.   He hesitated, and came back with something very profound, almost word for word what we teach at the School of Metaphysics.  Kraus attributed his proclivity for being amazing to his still mind, being in the present moment, and a sense of inner peace.

It became quite apparent that in choosing to come to the Living Peaceably event, Dr. Nelson Kraus had received dividends of the kind money can’t buy.  Just ask him.

WHY WAS NELSON KRAUS INVITED?

“Nelson was invited to participate in the “Living Peaceably begins by Thinking Peacefully” event because of his medical background.  Good health is imperative to inner peace, and Nelson believes strongly in personal responsibility.  We wanted people to explore peace through the eyes of a medical doctor who has also integrated alternative perspectives in his practice.”  - Dr. Christine Madar, Event Coordinator
