"When groups of people, come together, centered in love, a high ideal, and a desire to give, attractiveness becomes magnetic and begins to draw. We are the image. We are the moving image that is a direction for those seeking." – Veneza from Palatine Weblog Post

"When people remember their dreams, they have a window into a 'greater self.' They become aware that there is much more to our existence than meets the eye. Their experiences show them that life is more than feeding the body and having a reliable car and happy relationships. Dreams awaken us to a spiritual self. They show us that reality exists beyond the physical senses. In dreams, we can fly, we can visit unknown lands or outer space, we can meet sages and magicians. We may discover powers we never knew we had, or uncover knowledge that was previously hidden in books or secret libraries....

For all of us, focusing on dreams aids us to be more fulfilled and aware of who we are and why we are here. I want to express my deep appreciation for Dr. Barbara Condron, the students and teachers at the College of Metaphysics, the students and teachers at all of our SOM branches, for lighting the way to Intuitive, Spiritual Man as we learn and educate the world about the many facets of dreaming."
–Dr. Laurel Clark, SOM President

On the Radio....

"It got better as the DJ played a track from 3 of our CD’s. She played from the HOPE album, which immediately caused me to tear up. Then she played from the LOVE IS BLISS album, and my appreciation and emotion amplified, considering the effort I put forth with creating the album cover, and the learning I had with that. Many things came together all at once. In my Transference of Energy report (part of the “curriculum” of a college student) it talked about me having difficulty moving with the flow of how thoughts manifest. So many times I have experienced having high ideals and not being able to manifest them. However, I saw them manifest tonight, and it was a joy to share it with others." – Emily on the Weblog

At the Library.....

"I am sitting outside of Book Marks, which is an extension of the Dallas Public Library. This Library is located inside of one of Dallas’s most prosperous malls. I see this as a good fit for students and teachers of the School of Metaphysics because what we have to offer is 100 times as valuable as the expensive high end stores in the mall. What the mall offers is a temporary fix to a very real inner desire for learning and growth. A kind of inner expansion that all human beings yearn for. I desire to understand their Karma and tap into their Dharma. I see us as the stimulus for the many to wake from the illusion of living an only physical life to the reality of the inner life. The life where dreams come from. For many we are planting seeds that will later grow to new and profound awareness. Hence Dream Awareness Weekend. " - Golbahar Dadyan, Dallas Weblog

In our communities....

"The sincerity of sharing our learning experiences as students of S.O.M. was received openly and whole-heartedly.The Law of Relativity was accepted in many, as it became obvious they understood their presence was for a reason.

The truth of what the school teaches was a vibration flowing throughout that time and space being fully embraced in the moment. Much enthusiasm and gratitude being spoken about the discovery of having a school in their community gave S.O.M. the notoriety we strived to achieve. This gave us the understanding that great things can be given and received by a few in a short amount of time." — Carolyn Freeman, Tulsa

At our schools....

"Before coming to SOM I’d had a few memorable dream experiences and I treasured them.I realized they were special even though I had little knowledge of why. As a first cycle student I’ve logged and interpreted my dreams regularly. I’ve learned so much about myself through them that now I wouldn’t ‘dream’ of stopping my dream log. Now I better understand what they are and why they’re so important."

INTERPRETING KID'S DREAMS

Creating a Culture that Values Dreaming

"The time of dream awareness in 2011 is best described as flowering.

The reports from branches included the younger generation – children became a real part of our dreaming this year. At SOM headquarters this was captured when a 6th grader from Pennsylvania wrote to dreamschool the morning after our first webinar. She had questions for a paper she was writing. She had found our website, emailed and called us saying, 'I looked at a lot of sites and I knew you know something.'

When I heard this I immediately thought of Brenton Harris’ first post in this blog. I also thought about the new mission statement for dreamschool – 'creating a global culture that values dreaming.' It is happening. Just as we dream it..."

A Minister's Son by Kerry Keller, Bolingbrook, IL

Saturday morning we participated with the DuPage Children’s Museum in interpreting dreams for parents and kids for about 3 hours. The kids loved painting their dreams and that seemed to help them remember their dreams to verbally describe them.

One boy, maybe about 6 or 7, was dreaming of several rainbows in the sky and space…some with puppies sliding down them only to be eaten by a monster in the water below… when I asked the boy what he thought about the monster, he pointed to his older brother and said “I like him but he’s scary.” His dad is a minister and was taken aback at his son’s distaste for his brother.

I told him that his son was often attuned to the universe and creation through his mind, hence the rainbows… and he was upset with unknown aspects of himself expressing fear in his experiences… hence the monster in the water… The puppies represent small cute habitual ways of thinking allowing Tim to enjoy his ability to relate to his energetic connections. Although he is entertained by his monstrous thinking he is also aware that fear is taking over these habitual connections to his higher levels of self awareness and that is scary.

Dad was pleased that Tim did not dislike his brother yet he now was aware that he needed to pay more attention to what Tim’s fears were. Tim’s dad had some new perspectives of his own and thanked me over and over. We talked about him asking his son more questions, as trusted friends, and learn what Tim was thinking through his answers. His wife came over and they all left talking to Tim. This experience filled my whole day with gratitude and I found myself remembering my experience in helping all the way through the Edge of Dreaming Screening.

As I sit here in the Bookmarks Kids Library, I hear the laughter of children as they read, draw, and play. Damian is having an invigorating conversation with a boy no older than 8 about his dreams of planes and rockets.

I realize that this generation of souls is the one that will sweep across the face of the earth and catalyze the change we are working for. This is the wave that will build our pyramid, sustain world peace, and launch the introduction of intuitive, spiritual man.

I am grateful to be in the field of these great little thinkers, and will continue to update you all as our event progresses!

The weather on Saturday was perfect for an outdoor fair we called Family Dream Day. The Dream Team Assembly set up the event activities by noon. We welcomed new and familiar faces for the afternoon as we enjoyed a cook-out. The food was prepared by Katrina Parsley, Lindy Stafford and Heather Washburn. Heather is so eager to share her insights on life with her gifted son Noah, who celebrated his birthday with us! Christine Spretnjak focused on speaking to interested prospective students and explaining the many truths SOM classes offer. The children, and even the adults took advantage of our creative activities focused on dreams. Greg Sparrow and John Orton helped me set up the fun booths for Drawing your Dreams and Sculpting your Dreams. From there, the artists were invited to Act Out your Dreams on the mini theater stage erected in front of the picnic tables with their artwork and other pre-fabricated props like a house, a truck and a boat on different terrains like grassy plains, a lake, and even mountains. My heart grew so big when I saw children fall in love with our Family Dream Day.

FROM 16 TO 77, LIFE BELONGS TO DREAMERS
"Stan Wenck was among the crew that got the public excited about getting their dreams interpreted. With 77 publications in his lifetime, Dr. Stan Wenck (a retired psychologist) added credibility to the notion that dreams are real messages from the Soul." – Indy Weblog post

"An added synchronistic happening in Champaign/Urbana was the Illinois Marathon Saturday morning. It just so happened that 30,000 runners were in town and the route of the marathon went right by the School of Metaphysics. I’ve been told the runners come in from all over the country and all over the world. We posted a sign in front of the school about The Dream Awareness Weekend in addition to a banner across the front porch saying, “GO! GO! GO!” Saturday morning we cheered the hoards of runners coming around the corner in front of the school. I could see many look over at the sign, even mouth, “School of Metaphysics” or Dream Awareness Weekend” as they ran by." – Urbana, IL Weblog Post

MATURING IN SPIRIT & ACTION

What it's like to be on the Edge of Dreaming?
by Diana Kenney, Chicago, Illinois

Today I along with other students in the Chicago school met about 46 new friends — (We had 56 people register) — People who are ready to go within, and who are already doing so. It was a joyous and fun occasion. The people who were attracted to this event loved the movie and with the exception of a handful, they all stayed to discuss the film. We broke into three large groups after the movie and had wonderful conversations with new like-minded friends. One woman thanked us on her way out for providing a place where the best could be brought out in people.

We emerged richer from our experience of giving. Claudia, our dream awareness coordinator, grew wings and flew before our eyes. I watched her apply what she is learning in the classes to her efforts to find the venue and use all the resources available there to bring awareness to the event. I watched Gerri use intelligent direction in generously sharing her enthusiasm with others to greet and register people for the event and to motivate them to register for class. Renee generously offered support, encouragement and leadership wherever needed. Daphne and Chris also provided support and assistance in receiving the people attending the event.

I continue to learn more about directing intelligence and teaching teachers, and am grateful for Dr. Laurel’s wise counsel and gentle steadiness in aiding me to grow as a teacher of bright and loving souls. Thank you to all for expecting the best in us and constantly creating opportunities through which our best can be drawn out of us.

and Dr. Laurel Clark, National President of SOM

The post-movie discussion started with Chicago director Diana Kenney addressing the whole group, and then we divided into three smaller groups for more personal discussion. When Amy Hardie was in the Chicago area, it was clear that part of her intent was to have the audience discuss their personal experiences stimulated by the film. The group I was facilitating with Gerri included people who have had profound intuitive experiences, including visitation dreams, near-death experiences, and healing dreams. One woman, an artist and art teacher who is considering going into art therapy, suggested drawing or doodling dreams if the dreamer remembers an impression or feeling rather than a whole dream. This is one method that has aided her to “jump start” her dream recall until she can remember more of the dream. Her friend, a musician, said that his best compositions are inspired by dreams, and he has learned to continue to hum the music that he hears in a dream as he wakes up as he walks over to his instrument to play it. Another woman described a long dream in which a friend who died came to her in the dreamtime with instructions for her funeral and messages for other people.

CREATIVE DREAMING

While the differing musical styles reflected each performer's unique background, the importance of dreams in humanity's experience remained a central theme in the songs and poems.

HEAR THE SONGS

"Lullaby" (composed & sung by John Mark Aladeen)

"Inner Mind Love Song" (composed & sung by Matt Valois)

The Kansas City School of Metaphysics branch hosted their very first Dream Awareness Concert as part of their dream awareness weekend programming. Comprised of six musical groups and one estatic poet, each act performed original works inspired by dreams in some way.

The musical choices during the Dream Awareness Concert in Kansas City greatly reflected our dreams’ place in our world. Dream inspired music from decades ago were brought to life, living eternally in the heart of one woman. A lullaby love song coming from a dream provided another man hope during time in prison. Serious consideration of Carl Jung’s work played a prominent role in a married couple’s song selections, which sprung forth powerful songs from their own dreams just weeks before the concert. Another man wrote an impassioned song inspired by a recurring dream he’s had throughout his life, which gave him deeper understanding of its message while writing it. Stories like these among many others proved to be a testament to a dream’s capacity to transform the lives of those who consider them wholeheartedly. – Matt, Kansas City Weblog
