DREAMS

DREAMS

This is an interesting progression of dreams sent to dreamschool.org .  A woman has been writing to us asking about dreams with her recently deceased husband.  We’ve compiled her dreams and the interpretations (at right). This is education for many reasons.  One you can see how dreams with a common theme change over time.  Two, it is really interesting to witness how this woman’s consciousness changes as she is grieving for her husband.  The reality that our dreams are records of our consciousness during waking life is very clear in these dreams.  It is our hope that you are inspired to record all of your dreams and be dedicated in learning the meaning of each one.

MY DECEASED HUSBAND COMES TO ME IN MY DREAMS

Good Day,

My husband passed away 7 months ago, after a sudden, brief illness. I've had only two dreams about him so far. Both were at gatherings that we attended together. I sensed that it was him, though I've never seen his face in either dream. In one dream someone handed him some pictures, which I knew were of us, and he said to me "Why are you crying?"; I replied "because I'm so sad". I couldn't bring myself to say "because you died." As if he didn't realize he was dead.

In the second dream, he was sitting in an easy chair and I was draped on the arm of the chair with my right arm slung around the back of chair, around his shoulders. We were just sitting comfortably, no words were exchanged.

Other than that I have not dreamt of him, which, in itself, bothers me quite a bit. Any insight you can provide would help.

Thank you

When loved ones have passed away, people are sometimes visited by them. It sounds like this may have happened with you, especially concerning the second dream that you related. When loved ones communicate through dreams, it is their way of letting you know that you are still connected with them and that they still love you, even though they are not on the same physical plane with you anymore. Everyone is connected through subconscious mind. When people withdraw from the physical life, they are still souls and their souls reside in subconscious mind. That is why we are able to visit them at night in our dreams. That is where our dreams take place as well. Judging by your second dream, it sounds like you had a peaceful visit from someone you love very much and you can feel that he is in a peaceful place. If you are interested in learning more about visitation dreams or other phenomena dreams the School of Metaphysics, creators of dreamschool, publishes an excellent book called Interpreting Dreams for Self Discovery. There is an entire chapter devoted to visitation dreams. Click here for details about this book and other educational materials about dreams.

I KISSED MY DECEASED HUSBAND ON THE PLANE

You've very graciously interpreted two of my dreams about my husband who passed away over seven months ago. This morning I had yet another dream, although in this one I saw his gorgeous face for the first time.

Here is the scenario:

I was traveling somewhere, and the plane was about to leave, but it was implied that I wasn't making the journey on it. I was permitted to take my luggage on, which consisted of 2 carry-on's. In the front of the plane was an easel with a white board on it, the kind used for presentations. Only this one was like a flat TV screen with a GPS on it. As I was entering and refining the directions I needed, and I don't remember where it was I was trying to get to, I glanced over my left shoulder, and my husband was sitting there in a red and white madras type short sleeved summer shirt. For the first time since he died, I could see his eyes. I immediately went to him and cupped his face with my hands and said, "I'm going to love you as much as I can while I have the chance." And we kissed.

I assume that since I left my bags on the plane, I was letting go of baggage that I don't need to be carrying around. He was on the plane going away from me. I was looking for directions on the GPS because right now I'm struggling to find out what direction my life should/will take. It was all very vivid.

Thanks for your help with this interpretation,

This dream is showing you how you are starting to gain perspective on your husband’s death through the aid of some type of group or organization. This could be some kind of social, church or work group or a group of friends you talk to.

This dream is also showing you that you are releasing more of your attention from how you express your thoughts on this subject and have begun realize that you have the tools you need, such as your imagination, to give you continued direction and purpose in your life to build and add to your identity harmoniously. Your dream is also reminding you that the qualities within your husband live on within you. You and he are still very connected and always will be on a soul level.

DREAMING OF HUSBAND AND MOTHER, BOTH DECEASED

My husband passed away nine months ago. Last night I dreamt that I found out that he was in a nursing home in Pennsylvania. I felt confused and comforted at the same time. I saw my mother sitting on a couch (she passed away in 1989) and through tears said to her, "I have to go to him." She said, "I know. You go to him."

That's all there was to it. Then I woke up.

Thanks for your help.

Dreams are communication from your inner self, your subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind knows no limitations of time and space. It will use images of people from your past, present and future in order to communicate to you about your present state of mind. Each person in your dream represents an aspect of you, the dreamer. Your husband represents your subconscious mind or inner self. Your mother represents your inner authority, or highest part of yourself. This dream is communicating to you that you have a strong desire to be connected to your inner self, to learn about it, to work with it, for there is a wholeness that you desire for yourself. Your inner authority, represented by your mother, is communicating to you to go forward with this movement to connect with the inner you. Look at what your thoughts were 24 hours before this dream. You may have had thoughts that you wanted to learn about the vast universe that exists within you. When you turn within, that is where you will find peace. That is where you will find answers to your deepest questions. That is where you will find your purpose in life.

There are two main avenues that you can use to experience and learn about your inner self. The first is to learn how to interpret your dreams. Your dreams will give you important messages about yourself and will open up a whole realm of understanding who you are. You can learn how to interpret your dreams through the Dream of The Month Club. As a member, you will have a mentor who will aid you in learning your soul’s language and will give you an in depth interpretation of your dreams once a month. Another way to connect with and learn about your inner self is through meditation. There is a Spiritual Focus Session in the fall that is called Superconscious Meditation. This weekend experience will give you a great start on learning how to meditate and the value that can be gained through regular practice of deepening your meditations.
