Reasoning - The Power in the Waking Mind

by Megan Lytle

Now that we know seeing the good in every situation is how to practice positive thinking, which is how we learn, how do we stay with it?

1. Imagination:  You need imagination to create the mental image or thought of who you want to be and how you want to be.

2. Attention:  It is the attention held still in any situation that enables you to receive information accurately and honestly.

3.  Memory:  Memory is what bring it all together.  You have you attention in the present moment and you have learning to be learned.  Recalling your imagined idea of who you want to be will aid you in how you will learn from the situation.

When you have successfully acted on your ideals in any moment, knowing you have successfully learned from the experience, it is the memory that will serve as a reminder of what works.  One can say,  “I know from experience that when I hold my attention still, I remember who I want to be.  The positive thinker that I am is free to see the good in this experience.  It has aided me to have peace and success before, and it will work again in this moment and the future!

Reasoning is:  Imagination, attention, memory. When building the muscles of the body it is consistent repetitious action that produces results.  The same is true with reasoning.  Every time the three factors are used to see the good and learning is gained, this is motivating.  Positive experiences with learning are produced, and the thinker wants to learn all the time.  The muscle of the mind is strengthened and one wants to keep positive thinking strong by practicing reasoning everyday, every moment.
