Thought is Cause

by Tad Messenger

“We tend to see the world as we are.  Thought is all important, for as we think so we become.  Your thoughts of today create the you of tomorrow.”

This is how “Learning How to Learn, Lesson 5a”  begins.  It emphasizes one of the Universal Truths that is taught in the School of Metaphysics, that Thought is Cause.

Concentration exercises are the key for a student beginning to take control of their lives by identifying their thoughts.  There are not only negative thoughts that can be transformed into positive ones, but there are also thoughts that contain the wisdom that one has achieved.  The student begins to know the Self, by knowing the thoughts, and knowing who is behind the thoughts.

There is an important movement toward taking charge of my life by controlling my thoughts and purposefully choosing the thoughts that will produce what I want.  By employing will, attention, and imagination I begin to know that “I am a creator.  I make my own destiny.”  Recognizing and knowing thought is cause within my daily life, is the key to becoming aware of Self as a creator.
