This album was produced with the intention of aiding people to heal, to become familiar and centered in the healing qualities portrayed, and to strengthen the connection to their own powers of healing. While this album can be very enjoyable to listen to, (and we very much encourage everyone to enjoy it and listen to it often), it can also be used as a tool for developing higher consciousness.
1. Choose a healing quality from the songs in this album as a point of focus. For example, if you find yourself needing relaxation after an active day of work, you can focus upon Tranquility.
2. Read out loud the brief excerpt of the intuitive report that highlights the healing quality you chose from the inside jacket. Repeat this several times, allowing its meaning to sink deeper into your awareness and being.
3. Listen to the song with your full, undivided attention. This will help your mind to merge with the quality you’ve chosen. Notice any images, thoughts, inspirations, or changes in your mood or body as you listen to the song.
4. Create something from your experience. This can be journaling your experience, drawing pictures of the images that came to mind, or thanking the people that embody those qualities for their presence in your life. Imagine ways to incorporate your experiences into your daily life. Repeat steps 1 through 4 as you see fit.
For those of you who recognize a growing desire to know your own unique healing quality, call the School of Metaphysics World Headquarters at (417) 345-8411 or email us at som.org and ask about attending the next Permanent Healing Spiritual Focus Weekend. Participants receive their own Healer’s Portrait intuitive report and learn how to integrate these understandings of healing into daily life. We invite all people to discover their healing potential.

Research, meditate, record. These were the steps taken by musical avatar, Matt Valois, to create the music of Portraits of Healing.
Research: “While research often conjures up images of libraries and textbooks, research at the College of Metaphysics involves the privilege studying the intuitive reports. One particular report called the Healer’s Portrait describes a person’s innate healing quality, an understanding of healing and wholeness unique to each individual. I chose twelve of these qualities as the musical inspiration and foundation for this album.”
Meditate: “Several universities today offer programs to study abroad in a chosen field. I have learned to travel to deeper parts of the mind and connect deeply with the healing qualities chosen for this album through meditation practices taught at the College of Metaphysics.”
Record: “After meditating, I created improvisational music, or music made in the moment, that embodies these healing qualities. Portraits of Healing is the result of uniting my love for music and passion for metaphysics. It is an album of musical photography, capturing profound musical moments that remind us of our healing power and potential within.”
