1975 - present Educator
A lifelong student, Dr. Barbara O'Guinn Condron began teaching adults the development of human potential in 1975. She is currently a professor at the College of Metaphysics in Missouri. As Governor of International Education, she is responsible for the creation, development, and implementation learning avenues that are in alignment with the ideal and purpose of the School of Metaphysics. Whether publishing and production, continuing education programs, or website presence, Dr. O'Guinn Condron is known for encouraging students, teachers, and leaders in their quests to manifest I Am consciousness through the choices they make in life.
In 2005, Barbara created the POWERS of TEN day long seminar and began offering it at colleges and universities the following year. The POWERS of TEN is based upon the course of study the School of Metaphysics teaches. The school is a 501(c)(3) educational institute dedicated to the evolution of quality education. SOM offers transformative education that enables the individual to use the whole mind through the use of ten essential life skills: Self Respect, Undivided Attention, Concentration, Memory, Listening, Imagination, Breath, Reasoning, Intuition, and Entrainment. These are described in her book Master Living: 10 Essential Life Skills for Health, Prosperity, Success and Peace of Mind.
Barbara has served as a mentor to people of all ages. Artists, composers, and writers have benefitted from her tutelage and support in their own creations. Her affiliation with the School of Metaphysics has enabled her to teach children since 1992. This has led to her work, which is chronicled in How to Raise an Indigo Child. a book published in five languages. She has also been a part of the School’s philanthropic work with talented and gifted children (1977-1982) and visionary schools (1998-1999). Whether teaching the art of cheesemaking or the science of living meditatively, Barbara’s ability to aid others to use the intelligence and energy available to them is empowering.
1975-present Dream Researcher
Since 1977, Dr. O'Guinn Condron has made guest appearances on radio and television shows and been interviewed by newspapers here and abroad. From WGN in Chicago to WGNO in New Orleans, from PBS Latenight in Detroit to BBC Radio in London, her expertise in her subjects and her ease as a public speaker have made her a media favorite especially on call-in shows. Her affection for using media to connect people was behind the National Dream Hotline®, the annual weekend of sharing dream research sponsored by the School of Metaphysics. She served as International Coordinator for the hotline from its inception in 1989 to 2000. In 1997, she created www.dreamschool.org to share School of Metaphysics research and answer questions from dreamers online.
Now, Dr. O'Guinn Condron is pioneering global dream awareness through heading the Global Lucid Dreaming Experiments. The experiments seek to collect the largest body of experiential knowledge to date concerning specifically, lucid dreaming, and to analyze the data making it widely known. The Dreamer’s Dictionary is based upon the SOM researchers’ years of study in Mind Linguistics. Her film “Ten Powers of Dreaming” is shown during POWERS of TEN a daylong teaching on the essential life skills. Widely sought after as an authority on dreams, Barbara presented GLiDE findings on a comparative study of U.S. dreamers and worldwide dreamers during the annual conference of the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD) in 2009. In 2010, IASD presentations included "Dreaming Peace", detailing a group experiment in dream incubation, and another concerning Kundalini in dreams titled "Shiva's Eye: Mental Perception in Dreams". The first glimpse of her latest film on Bodhi Dreams - The Journey from Nightmares to Estacy premiered at the same conference. At the 2012 PsiberDreaming Conference, she is co-presenting a paper on "The Crystal Clear Tornado Dreamer Faces His Own Death, and Yours" with the dreamer, Mark Richardson. She brought dreams to the worldwide field of dowsing when she spoke on "Emergence of Dream as a Universal Oracle" at the SW Dowsing Conference in Flagstaff, AZ in 2011. She is currently writing INNERVISION: How Dreaming Opens Your Third Eye.
1976 - present Academic Administrator
Dr. O'Guinn Condron currently serves on the Board of Governors for the School of Metaphysics. As International Education Advisor, she creates new programs, designs internet campuses, and promotes global outreach through correspondence study and peace work. In 2007, she created the Global Lucid Dreaming Experiment dedicated to researching, studying, and promoting dream awareness. In 2000 in conjunction with developing the School’s Psi Counseling program, she pioneered an evolutionary development in the art and science of yoga. Coined “Taraka Yoga” these sequences in thought and action provide the basis of a mental technology enabling the practitioner to explore the whole Self. This work continues to echo in present endeavors, and the Taraka Yoga on Resolution serves as the high point of the POWERS of TEN day.
An instructor with the School of Metaphysics since 1976, Barbara served as a branch director in Wichita, KS (1976-1977). She opened the first branch of SOM in the southern United States in New Orleans, LA (1978) and served as a field director for the school opening branches along the Gulf Coast. In 1980, she was elected to the Board of Directors and asked to serve as its president. Following this, she turned her attention to the development of the interfaith studies and ministries which culminated in her seminar presentation on Kundalini entitled "Spiritual Initiation Gateways to Self Awareness" in 1993 at the Parliament of the World’s Religions. The same year her most widely-regarded book Kundalini Rising was published. She was chairman of the SOM Board of Directors from 1991 to 1997. She was Editor-in-Chief of Thresholds Journal from 1990 to 2001 and editor of the Wholistic Health and Healing Guide during those same years. She continues to oversee as SOM Publishing (1989 to present).
1977-present Intuitive Researcher
As an Intuitive Reporter with the School of Metaphysics, Dr. O'Guinn Condron has worked since 1977 in partnership with conductors to research knowledge from the inner levels of consciousness. Originally focused on wholistic health, relationships, family, and the purpose of life, her work made quantum changes when she partnered with Daniel, who she later married and together raised one son, Hezekiah. Investigating the creative nature of mind, intuitive paths, dharma, and chakra function became the focus of their work, what Daniel calls prosearch. Their collaboration continues to evolve intuitive science, encompassing the whole mind on both a personal and universal scale. Since 1995, this work has been shared with people from around the world during Spiritual Focus Weekends at the College of Metaphysics.
By 2003, people on six continents had received Intuitive Reports from the School of Metaphysics, forming a network of people worldwide, the basis of the Society for Intuitive Research, which Barbara began actively promoting. From her many years in this field of research she says, "Intuitive knowledge alters the way you understand yourself and the way you view life. It expands the perception; it opens the heart creating a resonance with like-minded individuals. Intuitive reporting illuminates this wisdom, adding to Universal Mind, which in turn creates a society of people enjoying elevated consciousness." Of the estimated 50,000 reports given, Dr. O'Guinn Condron has been directly or indirectly involved with over half of them. Many of her published works (eg. Work of the Soul, Uncommon Knowledge, Total Recall) include the intuitive reports collected by researchers at the School of Metaphysics.
1995 present Efforts in the cause of PEACE In 2003, Dr. O'Guinn Condron served as the International Coordinator for the dedication of the world’s Peace Dome. People on every continent, including Antarctica, joined as ONE VOICE, in reading the Universal Peace Covenant, a document researched and penned by two dozen SOM teachers from all walks of life, in 1997. The history of the Peace Dome, the covenant, and present initiatives can be found on the internet at www.peacedome.org, a website she originally designed. She edited and directed the 22-minute documentary on the making of the Peace Dome (Making Peace) and wrote Peacemaking: Nine Lessons for Changing Yourself, Your Relationships and Your World while preparing for the Peace Dome’s dedication.
Following years of meditation and service to others, Barbara initiated the Universal Hour of Peace by calling upon leaders in government, education, and business to proclaim September 25, 1995, at noon Greenwich Mean Time, as an hour of peaceful thought and action. This coincided with the 50th anniversary of the U.N. In 1996, the Universal Hour of Peace moved to December 31st as a way to welcome the new year. A twenty-five hour vigil is held each year at the Peace Dome on the College of Metaphysics campus.
It was also during this time that Barbara received permission from the Nobel Foundation to quote Nobel Peace Prize laureates’ speeches in a play she created called “The INVITATION”. This unique play spans 50 years in the development of peace thinking through eight Peace Prize laureates. It offers stunning lessons in history, social activism, compassion, and hope. It is Barbara ’s hope that in time, young thespians around the world will have the opportunity to bring Mother Teresa, Albert Schweitzer, Martin Luther King, Jr., and five others to life. In 2008, “The Invitation” traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana, as part of the Spirit Festival, and to Chicago for a Pre-Parliament of the World's Religions event. In 2009, the play traveled outside the U.S. for the first time when the cast performed in Australia at Melborne Unity. In 2011, the play premiered at the newly opened Interfaith Peace Chapel in Dallas and at Clifton Theater in Louisville, Kentucky in 2012. Production rights for “The Invitation” are available through SOM.
In 2009, Dr. O'Guinn Condron was invited to present at the Parliament of the World's Religions in Melbourne Australia. She descibed the Interfaith vision on a women's panel on "Multi-Faith View on Peace". (Her address is reprinted in the book Dreamtime) She also spoke on the three spiritual practices common to all faiths. This address was titled "The Crown Jewels of Consciousness". With the input of dozens of students, she is transforming its message into musical presentations based upon the personal relevancy in global scriptures and myths. The first jewel is reflected in The Power of Prayer around the World, a 2010 update of the 1993 musical performance offered at the Parliament of the World's Religions held in Chicago. The cast includes over two dozen people from 10 states and was presented in the Peace Dome on Palm Sunday. The enduring principles of prayer unfold before your eyes in a soul-stirring production that COM students have captured on film, audio, and a songbook/guidebook so others can bring this experience home. The second jewel, The Christ Seed illustrates the factors present when enlightenment dawns in the consciousness of any individual the six doorways into the inner levels of consciousness. This cantata was first performed in 2010 in the Peace Dome. The third jewel is The Revelation of God in Man. This cantata builds upon the 1987 production of the Book of Revelation, first performed on the College of Metaphysics campus for a Founder's Day celebration. Barbara is currently teaching the teachers who will create the multimedia presentation with expected premiere in 2013. At that time, Barbara anticipates turning her peace efforts toward the 2020 enlaying of the Healing Wall at the Peace Dome.
May 2012 was the first time Barbara 'Gael O'Guinn' Condron shared the Kuan Yin Blessing with a group of people. The occasion was the Living Hologram at the close of the Superconscious Meditation Spiritual Focus Weekend held at the College of Metaphysics. That story can be read in the June 2012 issue of Vibrations, the SOM Newsletter. In June, she gave her first Kuan Yin Blessing to individuals using the protocol outlined in The Taraka Yoga of Kuan Yin.
