How old is prayer? How long has mankind seen the need for consulting a higher power? What drives the inner urge to improve, to better, to progress, to enlighten, to evolve? An original musical cantata performed by students and teachers of the School of Metaphysics in 2010 at the Peace Dome, The Power of Prayer around the World is the moving experience of the universal urge to communicate with man’s Creator throughout time.
Outstanding ideas have often manifested in differing cultures around the same time. Outside our own backyard, we are evolving as a global species, and prayer has a great deal to do with it. The Power of Prayer cantata allows us to align our mind with another’s, absorbing transcendent thought so it might reorganize our common thinking, becoming enmeshed in our dealings with one another and the ways we behave in public and in private. When we chant “Om Namah Shivaya,” we receive the same thought form produced with “Let the mind rest in peace! Ten thousand things rise and fall, Self watches their return.” Confucius’ Silver Rule of “Do no harm to another than you would not wish upon yourself” foreshadows Jesus’ Golden Rule of “Love ye one another.”
When we open our Minds to Universal Truth,
we find ourselves recipients of timeless wisdom. Experience the music,
receive the wonder that is prayer around the world!
