Chapter 1

The word Revelation means reveal. The book of Revelation reveals in hidden, cryptic form, the destiny of each individual and all of humanity.

The word Christ is a Greek word meaning enlightened or anointed. Jesus was actually called messiah by his own people. The word messiah means anointed. The Aramaic word messiah was translated as the Greek word Christ or Christos.

The Aramaic name Joshua was changed in the translation to its Greek form, Jesus. The New Testament books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John present an image, a story, of the one known as Jesus who became the Christ. To become a Christ is to become enlightened. It is to become awake in full consciousness.
