Truly open and honest communication is one of the keys to building and using any relationship. The idea of expressing thoughts openly and honestly incorporates trust in yourself, in your thoughts and their reality, and trust in the relationship. To use my association most productively, meant that it would be most productive for me to admit when I was feeling victimized or sorry for myself. It would give me the opportunity first, to admit such thoughts exist in my mind, and second, to the physically hear my thoughts. With this type of honesty in communication, the relationship would also provide a place for me to gain another person’s objective perspective as they presented truth to me about my own thoughts.

It is often very easy to “buy into” someone’s limitations or poor image of himself, feeling sorry for them and supporting them when they are down. However, this is not the most productive approach. You can give them an honest and objective perspective to help them identify their thoughts. If they receive your honest communication, they’ll have information to help them recognize why they have those thoughts. You offer insight to help them change their thoughts and self-image.

Understanding yourself as consciousness begins by realizing the separation between you , the thinking being, and the physical vehicle, your body. You probably own a car. You might own a Taurus, or maybe a Toyota. Your car might be a Chevrolet, a Mercedes or a Porsche. They are all a means of conveyance, a mechanical device that enables people to go from one place to another more quickly than by using only the body. Yet when you get into your car, your Ford, to go somewhere you don’t become a composition and performs certain functions under your direction. When you get in that Ford there is no confusion in your mind as to who you are and what the Ford is.

Your physical body is just like your Ford. The physical body is a vehicle for the soul. It is a means of conveyance for consciousness to move from birth to death. The difficulty arises, and this is what promotes disease or illness, because we confuse who we are with this this Ford, and we forget to pay attention to who we are, apart from this physical body. This becomes apparent in how people respond, or neglect to respond, to a common function of inner consciousness occurring every night-dreaming.

All thoughts are real and have reality. Thought is cause and your thoughts affect the whole planet Earth and everyone on it. You are not separate and apart form all creation. Rather the Self that is you is connected with all other people, entities, and individuals. Everything you do affects every other part of creation. By admitting and claiming authority and responsibility for your life you admit you cause and have caused your life to be as it is. Therefore, since you have caused your life to be as it is up to this point; you can cause it to be different in the future. A higher deity or outside force is not controlling you. The truth is that a higher deity has given you creativity and you are responsible for using your creativity to better yourself.
